What is SAPNA?

SAPNA, the South Asian Psychology and Neuroscience Association, is an organization aimed at bringing together like-minded individuals in the South Asian diaspora to encourage healing the intergenerational trauma from our collective history.  Started in Cambridge, MA, it hopes to connect South Asian societies around the world to live a more thriving, meaningful, and fulfilling life.  Regardless of how closely we identify with our "desi" culture, we can all benefit from understanding why we're wired the way we are.

SAPNA hopes to help people understand their conditioning by delving into historical contexts that shaped their parents, grandparents, and great grandparents.  It also hopes to unite the various cultures, nationalities, and ethnicities within the Subcontinent by showing how at a psychological level, we're more alike than different.  The word "sapna" in Hindi means dream - it is our dream to bring understanding and healing to those that need it the most.
